Product Description
CBA® 1117XA is a chemical additive used as a cement constituent (European Standard EN 197, point5.5) to improve the manufacture and properties of cements.Physical Properties Appearance Brown liquid Density (g/L) 1050 – 1070 pH 11.0 – 13.0.
Recommended Addition Rate
The addition rate of CBA 1117XA is typically in the range of 450 to 600g / t of treated cement. However the optimum addition rate of CBA 1117XA depends on the characteristics of the material and the grinding circuit and is normally assessed through industrial tests. Grace personnel are available for assistance.
Deviation from the optimum cannot guarantee the expected results and could have an impact on cement characteristics.
Overdosing can lead to a reduction in mill retention time and a possible loss of grinding efficiency, together with “mill flushing” and excessive flowability.

CBA 1117XA is a grinding aid for cement, which reduces the tendency of re-agglomeration of the fine particles, formed during the communition process.

CBA 1117XA permits improvements to the flowability of the finished cement, the efficiency of the mill and separator, and thus increases the production rate with a corresponding reduction in grinding energy consumption.

Cement produced with CBA 1117XA has a lower pack-set tendency and hence can provide advantages during loading and unloading operations.
How To Use
CBA 1117XA should be added on to the feed belt or injected pure or diluted (also with the cooling water) into the mill. For an accurate proportioning of CBA 1117XA a volumetric metering pump is suitable. Should conditions require using more than recommended addition rates, please consult your local GCP representative.

Typical Applications
CBA 1117XA can be used for the grinding of most cements in open and closed circuit systems.

CBA 1117XA has particular benefit in the production of limestone blended cements because of its good grinding efficiency and improvement to late strength.

Packaging
CBA 1117XA is supplied in 205L drums, in 1,000L plastic containers or bulk. Shelf life is at least 24 months if stored in manufacturer’s containers.
Precaution For Storage
CBA 1117XA does not require particular precaution for storage. However it should be protected from freezing. For tanks and containers placed outside a heating system or a re-mixing device is recommended. It is also better to insulate exposed pipelines.
Handling Precautions
CBA 1117XA does not require particular precaution for health and safety. However it may degrade Polyvinylchloride (PVC) and other plastic materials. For further advice please read the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Accidental release or spillage to be absorbed with an inert, non-combustible material, such as cement, sand or sawdust.
Tanks and containers can be cleaned with water.
