Versatile, high performance polycarboxylic-etherbased superplasticiser for multiple applications
ADVA 960 is a high performance liquid polycarboxylic-ether-based (PCE) admixture to cover several applications. It works well with all cement composites to produce desired results on field. Although it is a high range PCE targeted to work in high strength mixes above M50 and self-compacting mixes, it works across many grades of concrete starting from M20.
No chlorides/salts are added in ADVA 960. IS 9103 restricts chlorides to 0.2% in superplasticisers. ADVA 960 will record close to 100 times below this limit.
Water Reduction and Slump Retention
ADVA 960 has a powerful capability of dispersion and rheology control to enable the production of high strength concrete up to M80 and high flow concrete with extended flow retention for easy pumping to high floors of high-rise buildings.
ADVA 960 offers excellent strength in comparison to many other equivalents in the market.
Tolerant to Batch Plant variations
Moisture content variations in the batching plant may affect many conventional PCEs. However, ADVA 960 offers good tolerance to such variations.
It works across many concrete mixes offering flexibility on water reduction and slump retention, thereby making it suitable to the needs of high strength, high flow, mid-range and combinations thereof.
Safe on Re-Dosage at Site
ADVA 960 offers very high slump retention, but very safe on set times. As ADVA 960 also provides very good water reduction, a small redosage at site can retrieve the slump back to a desired range.
The above properties completely depend on the mix design, local materials of concrete and their consistency, ambient and concrete temperature, pumping and placing conditions, etc.
ADVA 960 conforms to IS 9103, ASTM C494 Type A, F and G admixtures, and EN 934-2.

ADVA 960 is a versatile, high performance product that benefits from a wide variety of applications. As with most products of this type the magnitude of the effect obtained with ADVA 960 is governed by the quantity of product used, water-cement ratio, and the specific nature of the concrete and constituent materials.
It is necessary, therefore, to assess performance under site conditions using actual materials to determine optimum performance and dosage and effect on both plastic and hardened concrete properties such as cohesiveness, workability retention, setting characteristics, rate of early strength gain, ultimate strength and shrinkage, where these are of consequence.
As a guide to these trials, an addition level of 0.3 - 1.5% ADVA 960 weight by weight of cement is recommended.
Effects of Overdosing
Overdose of ADVA 960 will induce bleeding and segregation but improves flow retention. Usually, small overdose will not adversely affect the fresh and hardened properties of concrete. A severe overdose can result in delay setting time, necessitating delay in strip times of formwork.
Compatibility with Cements
ADVA 960 can be used with most types of Portland Cements. It is effective in concretes containing pulverised fuel ash or ground granulated blast furnace slag/ultra-fine GGBS/silica fume. For use with special cements, please contact your local GCP representative.
Compatibility with Other Admixtures
ADVA 960 produces self-compacting mixes with good rheology control. However, if additional rheology control is necessary due to concrete materials or mix, a V-MAR® admixture may be used in combination. ADVA 960 should not be premixed with other admixtures. The performance of the material may be affected by the presence of other chemicals and we would recommend that a GCP representative be consulted.
ADVA 960 is supplied ready for use. It should be added in its supplied form to the concrete after at least 90% of water is added.
It is preferable that ADVA 960 should be introduced into the mixer by means of independent automatic dispensing equipment.

Health and Safety
ADVA admixtures are formulated from chemicals which present no fire or health hazards. Upon spillage, the floor can become slippery. Please wash down the floor with water. Please refer to ADVA 960 Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.
ADVA 960 is supplied in 200L drums and 1,000L totes. Alternatively, bulk deliveries can be arranged.
ADVA 960 should be stored away from extremes of cold or heat. The product must be kept in shaded storage at all times.
Storage Life: 12 months from date of manufacture.
